Cadence ("Cadence," "we," "us," or "our") provides software that helps local service businesses communicate with their customers and leads by phone, text message, and email. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website or use our services.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When a business signs up, we collect details such as name, business name, email address, phone number, and billing information.
- Contact and message data. To provide the service, we process the contact details (such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses) and message content that our business customers and their end customers exchange through the platform.
- Mobile opt-in and consent data. We collect records of how and when an individual consented to receive text messages, including whether they consented to informational messages, marketing messages, or both, along with opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) requests.
- Usage information. We collect technical data such as device, browser, IP address, and how the service is used, in order to operate, secure, and improve it.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the service, including sending and receiving messages on behalf of our business customers;
- Honor opt-in and opt-out requests and maintain compliance records;
- Process payments and manage accounts;
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the service;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Text messaging consent and data
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the messaging providers and carriers strictly necessary to deliver the messages you have asked to receive.
Individuals receive text messages from Cadence only after submitting their mobile number through the contact form on gettingcadence.com and actively checking a consent box on that form. The form uses two separate, independent checkboxes, both entirely optional and unchecked by default. Checking a box is never required to submit the form, create an account, or use Cadence - anyone may leave both boxes unchecked, submit the form, and we will simply follow up by phone or email instead. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of using our services or completing any transaction:
- An optional box covering informational and transactional messages: replies to an inquiry, and appointment confirmations and reminders.
- A separate optional box for marketing messages: follow-ups about products and services, and requests for feedback or a review. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
Each type of message is sent only to individuals who actively check that specific box. Checking the informational box never implies marketing consent, and the two consents are recorded and stored separately. That web form is the only way Cadence collects consent to send its own text messages. We do not collect consent by phone, paper, in-store, QR code, or any other offline method, and we do not purchase, rent, or share lead lists. Separately, when our business customers use Cadence to message their own customers, that business is responsible for obtaining consent from its own customers. Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and can reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors to operate the platform - for example, our messaging provider and telecom carriers (to deliver texts and calls), our payment processor, our email provider, and our AI provider (to help generate message drafts). These providers may process information only to provide services to us.
- Our business customers. Contact and message data is made available to the business customer on whose behalf it was collected.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
5. Google user data and connected accounts
Cadence lets a business connect third-party accounts to power certain features. When you connect a Google account, Cadence requests only the permissions needed for the features you choose to enable:
- Google Calendar. To read and write calendar events so your Cadence appointments and your Google Calendar stay in sync and double-bookings are avoided.
- Google Business Profile. To read your business information and to read and reply to the reviews customers leave on your business.
- Gmail (only if you connect a mailbox). To read and send email on your behalf so your customer email conversations appear in your unified Cadence inbox.
We use the data accessed through Google APIs solely to provide the specific features you connected it for. Google account tokens are stored encrypted, and access is limited to providing those features. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not transfer or share Google user data with others except as necessary to provide these features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition consistent with this policy.
Limited Use. Cadence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect a connected Google account at any time from within Cadence, or revoke Cadence's access from your Google Account security settings.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. If you consented to both informational and marketing messages, you may also ask us to stop only the marketing messages while continuing to receive replies and appointment reminders. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
9. Children's privacy
The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
